Fertile Ground
Led by director Daniel J. Bryant, community members of all ages from Chicago’s South Side and Stony Island Corridor, come together over the course of two weeks to dive in and discover their inner-artist. These performers will delve into their own mind, body, and souls to share their personal experiences through spoken word, dance, and song.
Tickets to Fertile Ground are FREE, but required. Limit of 4 tickets per household.

Join us for a Community Casting Call, a FREE event with information on joining the cast of Fertile Ground, a community performance presented by Deeply Rooted Productions and Blacks in Green.
CREATE and PERFORM a play of YOUR stories told through spoken word, dance, and song for YOUR community, about YOU, starring YOU!
Rehearsals are July 30-August 7, location TBA, and performances are August 11, 12, and 13 at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts.
FERTILE GROUND: Ambassador Celebration
We invite you to become a Fertile Ground Ambassador and learn more about the process behind developing a performance, a performance created by YOUR organization, YOUR community EXPERIENCE, and YOUR stories.
Join us for this jubilant collaboration between Deeply Rooted Productions, Blacks in Green, and YOU! The event is FREE and features complimentary refreshments, a Movement and StoryCircle Workshop, and information on becoming a Fertile Ground Ambassador.
Help recruit a unique ensemble of citizen performers from YOUR community in the creative process of making a performance through stories, movement, and song!
