Dance Performance (within Chicagoland area)*

Lecture Demonstration

Lecture Demonstrations offer insight into the professional dance process and can be tailored to each audience. They include a performance followed by a question-and-answer period. (Average time: 30-40 minutes)

Master Class

Master Classes are taught by Deeply Rooted Artists for the beginner, intermediate or advanced level student. They convey the company’s mission and choreographic philosophy in a dance studio setting. (Average time: 90-120 minutes)

Community Class

Community classes are designed to provide dance instruction to communities where similar opportunities seldom exist, such as schools, community organizations, or churches. In each classroom, a Deeply Rooted Artist directs the class, and may be supported by another facilitator providing individual instruction. (Average time: 40-60 minutes)

Brown Bag Discussion

Brown Bag Discussions are informal conversations that focus on specific topics related to any Deeply Rooted project or process. Participants bring their own lunch unless provided by a sponsoring organization. (Average time: 45-60 minutes)

Up Close & Personal Performance

Up Close & Personal Performances, narrated by the Artistic Director or Choreographer, offer an intimate avenue to experience the company and/or ensembles, meet the artists, and see the artistic process unfold. (Average time: 45-90 minutes)

Basic Production Needs*. The following elements are basic requirements for local outreach community performances:

Sound System

Audio playback capability of digital devices through amplified PA speakers suitable to the room

Dressing Rooms

Up to 8 males, 8 females; with seating and mirrors, clean, warm, private and secure. DRDT is flexible about dressing room parameters

Performance Lighting

General illumination is needed

(There is an additional cost when DRDT supplies dance flooring. The performance floor must be clean, swept, mopped, with no protruding obstacles, nor obstruction of clutter within the wings of the stage or performance area.)
